Domaine Sainte-Cécile du Parc Mouton Bertoli
New selection! The husband and wife owners decided to each create their own wines, and this is Stéphane's blend. 75% Cabernet Franc, 25% Syrah, aged 12 months in oak. Big and bold, lush, deeply purple, with dark fruit flavors and hints of mocha and caramel.
Domaine Sainte-Cécile du Parc was started by Stéphane Mouton and Christine Mouton Bertoli in 2005. They moved to the Languedoc in France in 2003, after spending several years in Tuscany. The owner who sold them the property had sold his grapes to the cooperative in Pézenas, but Stéphane and Christine wanted to make their own wine. Along with Jérôme Debrun, the estate manager, they first undertook a complete examination of the property and vines, keeping the best and planting new where needed, and then created a new winery, which saw its first production in 2011. They had an easy transition to organic production, since the land hadn’t been treated for several years when they bought it. First Vine was the first importer of Domaine Sainte-Cécile du Parc wines.
Stéphane and Christine each wanted to design their own wines, Mouton Bertoli is Stéphane’s. It’s 75% Cabernet Franc, 25% Syrah, aged for a year in oak. The wine is certified organic in France. Big, lush, deeply purple, with notes of black cherries and blackberries, and hints of mocha and caramel. It has panache and personality, as does Stéphane!
