Quinta da Bica Jaen & Rufete 2008
A very elegant blend of two native grape varieties that have often had supporting roles in Dão reds
This is a very elegant blend of two native grape varieties that have often had supporting roles in Dão reds. The wine opens with violet aromas and flavors that lend toward pomegranate and red licorice. The wine is very svelte throughout with a hint of vanilla on the finish. It doesn’t overwhelm with waves of different flavors but instead delivers a focused quaff. The 18 months of barrel aging come across in added complexity and leanness.
