TerraVentoux was created in 2003 from the merger of two village cooperative wineries in the Côtes du Ventoux: Les Roches Blanches in Mormoiron and La Montagne Rouge in Villes-sur Auzon. These wineries had sold good wines in bulk to other entities for redistribution, but without their own identities. TerraVentoux has taken advantage of the clean slate to launch a line of wines designed to appeal to various tastes based on the older wineries’ good practices. The results are encouraging, and First Vine is the first in the DC area carrying their wines. TerraVentoux’s Côtes du Ventoux Red is made from 75% Grenache and 20% Syrah. It has a nice fruit flavor and soft tannin. A great everyday wine for all sorts of foods and when you're looking to have a little comfort in a glass!
